What is RPA?

Robotic Process Automation is the technology that allows organizations to configure and deploy software “robots” to emulate the actions of a human interacting within digital systems to execute a business process. RPA robots utilize the user interface to capture data and manipulate applications just like humans would. They interpret, trigger responses, and communicate with other systems to perform a wide variety of repetitive tasks.

Types of Robots

There are two main categories of RPA robots: attended and unattended. Click on the type of robot you would like to know more about.

Jo-Attended Automation

Attended Robots

Attended robots run on employees' workstations, serving as digital assistants to support your human staff on various repetitive processes. This type of automation is typically found in the front office, such as customer service and contact centers.

Unattended Robots

Unattended robots run on virtual machines and do not require any human supervision; they can handle long-running and advanced processes and can be scheduled to run within specific time frames. The robot notifies humans if any exception handling arises. Unattended automation has been the most widely adopted type of automation due to the high impact on operational efficiency.

Assemble your RPA team

In order to hit the ground running, JOLT will help you identify the right team to manage your automation program from assessment to development to continued support and maintenance.

We will guide you in your team's building process to help you avoid failures and ensure the success of your RPA initiatives.

We'll get you ready with Fast Start

Our Fast Start program is a dedicated program to help your organization realize value deployment while setting your program up for long-term success. We know taking the first step is the hardest and we're here to help you.

What's next? Ramping up your automation.

Once you've successfully completed the Fast-Start program and you've established a small automation footprint, it is time to evaluate the readiness of your organization to scale its automation initiative to other areas within the enterprise.

To ramp up, you need a Spark.

Once you have automated two or three business processes and have had a taste of the power of automation, you may be looking to scale and expand RPA across the enterprise. To do this, we provide you our Spark Assessment.

The Spark Assessment will help you identify the top automation candidates within your organization and determine their readiness and maturity prior to scaling up automation.

During the assessment, a JOLT business analyst will spend three weeks working with your Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and process owners to dive deep into potential automation candidates. This helps determine the tasks and subtasks within the top processes and outlines the potential time savings projected through the deployment of automation.

So, what now? It is time for Hyperautomation.

Now that you've successfully established an RPA initiative and that you've scale automation across different parts of the enterprise, it is time to look at the road towards Hyperautomation. To achieve hyperautomation, your organization will get hands-on with cognitive technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Object Character Recognition, Natural Language Processing, and more. At this stage, your organization will automate more complex business processes from end to end.

Welcome to Hyperautomation.

Hyperautomation is the expansion of automation from Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to a combination of technologies that enable the end-to-end automation lifecycle.

As organizations mature their automation capabilities and move away from automating simple, well-defined tasks to more complex, exception-heavy processes. The need for multidisciplinary governance, audit, security, and process optimization surges, driving the importance of integrating complementary technologies to the backbone of RPA.

How does hyperautomation tie in with RPA? Take a look at our in-depth blog about this.
