Life after Oracle UPK - Server compatibility issues

With Oracle starting the official sunsetting of their User Productivity Kit (UPK) product by removing development and support efforts in the coming years, many existing UPK customers are facing challenges around compatibility with newer server and operating systems that are not supported by UPK. The latest patch (ESP4) for UPK supports up to Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server Database 2016 (See link for the Technical Requirements). Since Oracle announced the sunset of the UPK product line, we received word that there would be no new functionality in the toolset, except for patching for customer issues. At this time, we no further indication from Oracle that there will be any technical upgrades for Browsers, OS and databases. Current Oracle support only shows 7 issue patches since the release of

See below Oracle's official statement on ending support extension for UPK:

"Premier Support Extension for Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK) 12.1: As part of Oracle's continued commitment to provide the industry's leading Support offering, the Premier Support end date for Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK) 12.1 has been extended from April 2019 to December 2022. This update is reflected in the Lifetime Support Policy: Oracle Applications brochure within the Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK) Standard & Professional table. This announcement is applicable only to the 12.1 version of the impacted product IDs.”

For customers that would like to migrate their server i.e. from Windows 2012 to Windows 2016, they won't be able to migrate their UPK environment to the new server. For this reason, JOLT has partnered with the leading UPK replacement vendors (including ANCILE uPerform and Epiloque Opus) to help our customers address the compatibility challenges with UPK and begin their transition planning process. We also worked closely with these vendors to refine UPK conversion programs to convert UPK content into their new content platform making the transition from UPK easier.

As always, please let us know if you have any questions about Oracle UPK, the transition from UPK or anything else we might help with. If you would like to know more about the UPK sunset or these UPK replacement options we can easily provide a live demo of these tools or answer any questions.
